Exodus 25-31
Introduction
The Tabernacle gives us a Picture of God’s Holiness and Our Future Savior Jesus
I. God’s Tabernacle (25-27)
v.8 – “And let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell in their midst.”
Sanctuary -  miqdash - is a holy place set apart for Jehovah;
Dwell – shakan – ‘settle down’
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and we have seen his
glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is
among men, and He will dwell (TABERNACLE) among them, and they shall be His
people, and God Himself will be among them…” Revelation 21:3
Three reasons for the Tabernacle
1) The Tabernacle was a physical symbol of God’s presence in their midst.
2) The Tabernacle was to foreshadow the One in whom all the symbolism and
sacrifices would be fulfilled (Jesus Christ)
3) The Tabernacle was to represent a divine means through which sinful man could
approach a holy God.

Jesus the Bread of Life
“Jesus then said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, it is not Moses who has given you
the bread out of heaven, but it is My Father who gives you the true bread out of heaven.
“For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the
world.” Then they said to Him, “Lord, always give us this bread.” Jesus said to them, “I
am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me
will never thirst.” John 6:32-35
The Holy of Holies
The Veil or Curtain
The Priest could only go pass this curtain into the Holy of Holiness ONCE A YEAR!
When Jesus died on the cross, the veil in the temple was torn from TOP TO BOTTOM!
The Ark – the first and most important furnishing
The Ark would eventually be within the inner room, the Holy of Holies and would contain
the tablets of law, Aaron's rod that budded, and a golden pot of manna.
Mercy Seat with Two Cherubims and Poles
Mercy Seat is the lid of the ark and was the place where the blood was sprinkled on the
day of atonement and angelic heavenly beings who dwell in God's presence and
minister to Him. The poles were to carry the Ark when they moved (2 Samuel 6).

II. God’s Priestly Garments (28-31)
v.2 – “You shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty”
These garments are not just any garments but are to be holy garments, set apart
garments signifying set apart function of the priests to the Holy God
