Introduction
The Kingdom of God has a King…His Name is Jesus
“It is not praise He desires; it is practice. The Sermon on the Mount is not to be commended; it is to be carried out.” ML Jones

Two Words
“And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he was teaching them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.”
‘astonished’ - ekplesso is a very strong word meaning, “to strike out, expel by a blow, drive out or away, to strike one out of self-possession, to strike with panic, shock”
‘authority’ – exousia - speaks of the fact that Jesus possessed both the power and the privilege, and in the NT His authority served to prove His sovereignty.

One God and King
Who is this Jesus? Is He just a great and powerful teacher? This is a question that each of us have to make.
“Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?”
Son of Man – favorite way for Jesus to describe himself. Why?
Daniel 7:13,14 -
Mark 14:61,62
“Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” And Jesus answered him, ‘Blessed are you Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.’
So, the question is…Is Jesus the Son of God?
