Psalm 37:5
Introduction
Those who reject God and His ways can expect uncertainty on earth and disaster
in eternity.

To Bring our Time, Talents, and Treasures
into full alignment with God’s Will and Purpose

I. Commit
“Commit your way to the LORD…”
David tells his readers to be committed to God, including with their trust, which is the
essence of "faith." The Hebrew word translated "commit" literally means "to roll."
In Hebrew, this is used figuratively to describe handing over, seeking, or consigning
something. The trusting believer "rolls" his burdens onto the Lord (Matthew 11:28).
II. Trust
“…trust in him…”
The Hebrew word for ‘trust’ – means ‘trust or rely on’ – we rely on God (he is our object)
It is a declaration of that our dependence upon Him in earnest and frequent prayer.
David assures us: if we entrust our ways/burdens to God, the Lord will act. He will
ultimately deal with those who malign and threaten us (Romans 12:19).
“…casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7
III. God
“…He will act.”
He will do what you cannot
